The stories by author Karl May of Apache chief Winnetou and his white brother Old Shatterhand have coloured the childhood of German children for over a century. Adventure tales set in the Wild West are anchored by the fair and just morality of two friends from opposing backgrounds.
This collection of Neckwear celebrates these memories, also that of the recently departed actor Pierre Brice, who brought the character to the big screen in the 1960s.
Central to almost each work is a Native American head, reproduced from a Tie Pin acquired by Christine’s grandfather Herger whilst on a navy visit to the USA. It is the sole item of his to have survived the family’s flight from East Germany and the original features in The Hunter.
